If you are among those who've been thinking about taking one of my summer rafting/camping trips down the Salmon River in Idaho each August, here's a heads-up that this year (next month) will be my last one! That's me and my pal Vitas above (a retired special ed teacher from Michigan and singer of Lithuanian folk songs) during last year's paddle. He's joining us again, I'm happy to say.

I'm shifting to other things starting in the summer of 2024, and this sixth trip (August 22-27, 2023) will be my final adventure with Middle Fork River Expeditions, a great outfit. They take world-class care of us the whole time with expert guides who lead, haul, cook, paddle, protect, educate, amuse, and usher us through as stunning a part of our country as there is for 6 unforgettable days.
