Greetings, friends to the south (of Cape Cod, that is).
I'm ramping up to touring once more after a couple years of pretty much singing sitting down in front of computers and to be honest, not always fully clothed.
I'm just now looking at a little window of time at the end of September/early October (about 2 months from now) and wonder if there are enough of you spread out down there a bit to justify a plane ticket, rental car, and gas to return to the Lone Star State...
My first trip was in 1985 (gasp) as a finalist in the New Folk contest at the mighty Kerrville Folk Festival. Many trips ensued after that. Coming down to play for y'all became a spoke in the wheel of a full-time "folk music career" (not an oxymoron) that has spanned 35 years now (gasp). That has also included a lot of hard work, incredible joy, unforeseen intangibles, and people who've inspired all along the way to this day. Good people that we don't always hear about in this loud and divided time. People worth singing about, above the noise that would silence differences of opinion.
Kindly drop me a line if there's something possible in or within reach of places like Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Fort Worth, Houston, Oklahoma City, (your town here...)
And if I/we collectively determine the notice is too short, I'll put some more space to the request.
