My native Midwest beckons! I'm very excited to be "coming home" once more in a couple of weeks to visit four beloved (to me) communities...you can find out more by clicking on the blue link of each listing. Here's the lowdown:

Innocent Place © 2022 David Roth ~ County Clare, Ireland
There’s nothing like taking a trip far from home
And seeing the sights with your friends
There’s no greater learning than tromping about
On a highway with turns and with bends
It’s the wrinkles and detours that come to the fore
Unexpected and full of surprise
And just when I think that I’m filled to the brim
There’ll be something to open my eyes
Thank you for showing up, thank you for ease
Thank you for patience and grace
Safe going forward, may all that you see
Bring you back to your innocent place
To come to my senses I must lose my mind
And surrender the counting of days
The busy-ness certainly adds to the stress
Of attempting to manage my ways
There’s only one family, there’s nothing on Earth
That can hold back my soul to forgive
A song or a poem, a story in prose
Can move mountains as sure as I live
There’s nothing like taking a trip far from home
And seeing the sights with your friends
Remember the past but don’t rest in that picture
For I just might see you again
And when that day comes there won’t be any words
That could capture this feeling and time
So we’ll dive off a cliff and jump into the present
The dwelling of all that’s divine
