Twenty years ago this Saturday marks an event that has reverberated throughout and changed the world as we know it. I remember exactly where I was when I heard of the aircraft and the Twin Towers and Pentagon...just as I remember that day in elementary school where we all heard of the assassination of John F. Kennedy over the light brown loudspeaker above the blackboard at the front of Miss Shapiro's 4th grade classroom.

In conjunction, I'll be offering an online concert this Saturday evening @ 7:30 PM EST, sponsored by Focus Music in the Washington DC area.
This is a ticketed event ($15, and all your snacks are free - or whatever you paid for them at less-than concert hall prices) and I'd be honored for you to join us for songs like "Rise We Will" (about that very day), "There But for Fortune" (by Phil Ochs), Satyagraha (regarding Ghandi's introduction of civil disobedience to a crowd of several thousand on 9/11/1906), and more, of course. The Focus folks have become good friends over the many years we've worked together, and I couldn't be more privileged to play two sets for them on this note-worthy occasion.

My fifth annual rafting trip down Idaho's Salmon River is in the books, and our full group included 20 guests and 6 guides. Here's one of the countless postcard photos from the trip with my pal (and chosen brother) Vitas Underys, a recently retired special ed teacher from Michigan. And yes, we did sing "Blowin' in the Wind" in Lithuanian as well as many other songs around the campfire each night. Want to be among the 20 next year? Exact same dates, August 30th through September 4th, 2022, with a travel day on either end to get to where we got to get to. Nothing like a day on the river.
