To me the way that time is accelerating these days is unprecedented, and here we are coming into a new month in the New Year already. Anyone else?

And the world changes and doesn't change all at the same time. Songs I co-wrote or wrote 6 years ago sound like they were written yesterday...immigration (Home of the Brave), gun control (Change the Laws), even Rising in Love (1986) with lines like "lifting eachother up instead of giving one another a shove" sounds like it could have been penned after watching tonight's evening news (which I didn't).

What did the Youngbloods sing?

"Come on people...smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try and love one another right now..."

Enough trying. Time for doing.

On the day we have elections opportunities abound
To turn a corner, turn a page and turn this thing around
But I have seen the greater good replaced with scorn and spite
There are bigger things to focus on than simply picking fights

Bigger things to focus on than simply picking fights
Bigger things to focus on than simply picking fights
Things like, oh, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights
There are bigger things to focus on than simply picking fights

Instead the scores get settled up, get even, tit for tat
Meanwhile all constituents get swept under the mat
This isn’t red or blue or purple, pink or brown or green
It’s non-partisan frustration when grown people are so mean

There are bigger things to focus on than simply picking fights
Bigger things to focus on than simply picking fights
Things like, oh, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights
There are bigger things to focus on than simply picking fights

On the day we have elections opportunities abound
To turn a corner, turn a page and turn this thing around
Thus, an open note to politicians, vengeful and so fervent
The two words that you overlook in this are

“public servant”

So sorry my latter January concerts in Ormond Beach, Eustis, Gainesville, Jacksonville, and Melbourne (all Florida) were cancelled...I had to return home to New England for a family health emergency that has thankfully begun to resolve (not covid). I'll hope to reschedule that second half of what started off as a great tour sooner rather than wait another year til next January.
Moving forward...
