Hark, fellow explorers and seekers of wide open spaces! Come west with me (even tho I point east in this photo) August 29-September 4th, 2021 for my fifth annual rafting trip in remote Idaho with Middle Fork River Expeditions - 8 spots remain as of this writing ~ for our 75-mile 6-day excursion through the exciting calm-to-thrilling waters of the Main Fork of the Salmon River.

Been thinking about a post-Covid getaway to renew, recharge, and reconnect? Here's a totally family friendly excursion (last year among ~ yes, 2020 ~ among our 24 guests we had 7 kids) where you can row, ride, kayak, even stand-up-paddleboard (they bring ALL the gear) on various stretches, all under the watchful eye of our 6 expert guides (who are also brilliant cooks) for coffee at sunrise, three ample, healthy, and delicious meals (all diets can be accommodated) a day, right down to happy hour before every dinner. Then we sing around the campfire in some of the most beautiful places you've ever seen. Rinse. Repeat. 6 days. How about a natural hot spring? Yup. A Pisces' dream.

The cost is $2199 per person which includes ground transportation by bus from Salmon, ID, ground transportation by bus from the take-out to McCall, ID, meals from lunch Day 1 thru lunch Day 6, top-shelf tents, sleeping bags/pads, pillows, dry bags, and a drip-proof coffee mug to bring home to boot (or to Cape Cod, in my case).

And what better way to reflect back on my decade in New York City (the 1980's) than to be invited back to the virtual
Greenwich Village Folk Festival on Sunday, June 6th 7 PM EST.
We used to play this one at the Central Park Bandshell, but this'll do just fine under the circumstances.

My old friend Christine Lavin continues to be a guiding light in the global songwriting community to this day, decades after we tromped around from one open mic/songwriting group to another on Monday nights in the Village back then.
Join all these artists for crisp 15-minute sets this night. Hmmm...what 3 songs to choose...surely something written back then (as I gazed over the rooftops from my fifth-floor walkup at 22nd St and 8th Ave) will be included.

Later in the new month - June 28-July 2nd I'm honored to return (several years in a row now) to Common Ground on the Hill's online "Traditions Week" as a songwriting instructor with two weeklong courses: 1 PM daily: "Writing Songs of Social Justice" and 2:30 PM daily: "Introduction to Alternate Guitar Tunings".

We have a great time on Zoom (such as it is), it’s very hands-on, participatory, for all levels, inclusive, friendly, and kind. Learn more at https://www.commongroundonthehill.org
Each group class with me (or other instructors) costs $100 for the full week (five 75-minute sessions). Evening concerts, Gallery Talks, and Keynote lectures are all included with the tuition AND college credit is available from McDaniel College (where camp will once again be held in person in 2022). This is a fine, fine program, with amazing instructors up and down the line, and a wide variety of subject matter that reaches beyond music to culture and compassion. I'm proud to be part of it.
In July, look closely and find my first in-person concert in well over a year for all of you within driving distance of New Hampshire...the mighty Crows' Feat Farm ~ https://crowsfeatfarm.org/ ~ hosts on the 4th of July as part of their annual summer series - and they've named this summer season of music "This is The Year" after a song by youknowho.
