Warmest greetings, all.

About ten years ago I was on a (still!) annual trip to Michigan to play a few shows, and I'd just gotten hold of my first carbon fiber guitar made by the RainSong company in Woodinville, WA (you can't make this stuff up - these amazing instruments aren't made of wood). I made my annual pilgrimage to one of the coolest acoustic music stores anywhere, Elderly Instruments in Lansing in search of a soft backpack case and as ever, they had exactly what I was looking for, an Access "gig bag" which I happily procured.

Fast forward to now...a small section of the lower zipper on this sturdy and beloved gig bag (which I've used almost exclusively in all my ground and airline travel all this time) was starting to fray - the "teeth" were coming apart from the material they were attached to - and I couldn't zip it up.

I reached out to the company directly just on the odd chance they could help me figure out what to do with an otherwise great case (which I didn't want going into any landfill) - I didn't expect much more than being ignored altogether or at least told what kind of glue I might try. I'd more than gotten my money's worth from this ten-year old purchase.

Enter Bret Crane of Access (on the left below). We started up a friendly musician-to-musician e-mail exchange and about 2 weeks later I had an absolutely brand new gig bag courtesy of Access delivered to my door after I'd sent the old one back to Kingston, WA. That's Warehouse Manager Bryan on the right. Other team members include Christy, Lacey, Charysse & HB.

File this one in the "you never know if you don't ask" category, but more to the point, in the "exemplary customer service" column.
Thanks Brett, Bryan, and a company who goes above and beyond.
I'd recommend them to anyone.

Free Porch Concert this Thursday @ 6 PM in Provincetown, MA at the Brasswood Inn. Then down to New York City on Saturday and Sunday. There's nothing quite like writing songs with kids.
