Hi friends.
On this Memorial Day, I quote the just-posted words of my friend and fellow musician Alastair Moock:
"When we honor Memorial Day, we honor not flags or empty words about freedom, we honor the human beings who we have collectively sacrificed. We remember that war is hell. We vow to do everything we can to avoid the next one."
Alastair has more to say, and this closing paragraph on his post to me is a righteous summation of a complicated remembrance, with the additional perspective of all current epicenters of conflict we face.
Thank you, veterans and those currently serving.
Thank you to all who can lay down arms, policies, and egos that would interfere with our human compassion and connection.

June marks the return of the Full Moon Open Mic (FMOM), and we'll meet in a new location on June 20th in Chatham right here on Cape Cod. Our voluntary donation bucket approaches a cumulative $17,000 over the years for local non-profits, and in honor of my friend Carol Rudinsky who recently passed away,
If you can make it, you'll hear words to these effect at the outset:

June will also see visits to the midwest, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and the 19th annual Empower Music and Arts Festival at Unity Village near Kansas City. Regarding the latter, I've gone just about every year and it's an exhilerating weekend of workshops, concerts, spontaneous musical collaborations, and community-building of the highest order, open to musicians, music lovers, fans, family, and friends. Take a look.
I've also just supplemented the lineups for the 2025 Cape Cod Songwriters Retreats CCSR), and I'm pleased to say that joining me and Sloan Wainwright in January will be the afore-mentioned Alastair Moock, and in March, Susan Cattaneo and Glen Roethel ... great songwriters, generous, humble, and world-class instructors who also happen to be really fun to hang out with.

That's the formula. Click on any of their names to find out more.

Our 12th year shapes up to be another shape-shifter. ALL levels, all-inclusive, and Provincetown, MA is glorious in the wintertime.

Drop me a line for availability, both fill quickly.

On the guitar front, I'm (literally) going to be getting my hands on three beloved instruments over the next few weeks. First, I'm stopping by the Martin Guitar Factory to retrieve my precious 1976 sunburst D-35 that I purchased new in the spring of 1977.
Lifetime guarantees are what they used to be (!), but without the boring details, this foundational dreadnaught will have gotten a neck reset and lesser tweaks to return to playability! Love this guitar.
From my local luthier I'll also retrieve my sunburst Gibson B-25 that I bought in high school - my first good guitar, and the first dollar I ever made playing music is in the case compartment...
THEN comes this: My friend of 20+ years Bob Morrow has worked for years to become an expert high-end guitar builder, and after we consulted in person in February (and after I picked out all the wood and components) he's begun building a custom-made OM-30 acoustic guitar to my specifications (and his recommendations)...check out his Facebook Page, and look for me to be bringing another most magnificent instrument to any gig I can drive to going forward (no flights for this one!)...
I'm unbelievably excited...and blessed. Take a peek:

A revolution is coming - a revolution which will be peaceful if we are wise enough; compassionate if we care enough; successful if we are fortunate enough - but a revolution is coming whether we will it or not. We can affect its character; we cannot alter its inevitability.
