Hi friends and neighbors (and thanks for the photo, Arlin Geyer, recalling what we used to be able to do and hope to sooner rather than later). I hope you're taking good care of yourself and one another. We're doing the best we can and so far so good. I made the big trip a few days ago to the town transfer station (dump), post office, and local market for organic fruits and vegetables - and kettle corn. Wore a scarf wrapped abound my nose and mouth. Here's a link on how you can make your own masks at home (from CNN) https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/04/health/how-to-make-your-own-mask-wellness-trnd/index.html

You may also have noticed that state and local politicians and citizens continue to seek creative and necessary solutions for the sake of public safety and health in spite of the ongoing sluggish response by those in our nation's capitol. Please don't be tempted to start gathering again "for the sake of the economy". Here's to all those in all walks of life who are stepping up for those besides themselves. Whenever we get to the other side of this, credit where credit is due.

We love them - and all people on the front lines. Donation links: PayPal

Once more, our online gathering is a work in progress, and I'll do my best to keep up with the technology, experimenting with a new audio approach as well. I'm still hitting what I hope is the "easy button" (FaceBook Live) and as before, I welcome hearing from you before, during, and after.

Regarding live appearances, my hope is that all events starting in June will happen. The reality is that I have no way of knowing where we will all be a couple months from now. We'll stay in touch.

Over the years I've had the pleasure of teaching songwriting and singing at Common Ground on the Hill/McDaniel College in Westminster, MD, which convenes this year on June 28th. They're hosting their second annual songwriting contest for anyone interested, and there's still time to submit.
