2003, 2021. My first and second (last) Honda Elements. They stopped making these cars ten years ago (the CRV's were selling circles around them) and to my chagrin, my beloved jalopy died about a month ago, causing me to need "transitional wheels". I don't know if you've looked at used car prices lately, but they are WAY higher than ever, and I bless my mechanic Matt for selling me an auto he was fixing up for his son. Count me now among the millions driving a (2011) CRV, which I trust will be a bridge to my all-electric car in 2-3 years (when they've worked the bugs out and lowered the prices). Or maybe I'll just be on an electric bike by then.

All that said, I take (baby steps) to the road once more in Wisconsin later this month (November 20 and 21), with my 9th annual (except for 2020) concert event at the magnificent Dancing Dragonfly Winery in St Croix Falls, WI, way up north and west in America's Dairyland. I add a stop the next morning to sing and speak at Unity of Eau Claire. My song-sermon that day will be "There's More to Giving Thanks than Giving Thanks" and it's open to each and every one of you. I can tell you how I look forward these events!

How about a Night-Before-Thanksgiving online concert? My first CD "Rising in Love" came out in 1993 on Folk Era Records (in my home state of Illinois), so as we near 2022, that marks the 30th year that particular project has been spinning round.

I'll play the whole album - live on 11/24/21 ~ 7:30 PM EST on zoom. Meeting ID: 875 2966 7831 ~ Passcode 190521 to the first 98 to jump on board. I'll be joined by my dear pal Glen Roethel on tech (he'll add a song, he's wonder-full). Then, after-party! Separate zoom meeting, TBA. Opportunity to share gratitude.
I'm also getting in touch with my January Florida sponsors to see how things are going down there as far as in-person gatherings. I'd sure like to resume that trip, but exercise caution still. If you're down there, send me a message in a bottle to let me know how live concerts are (or aren't) going. That'll help! Same goes for Washington and Oregon in April/May.

IMPORTANT: All of you Cape Cod Songwriter Retreat peeps, we're moving forward with these two in-person events in Provincetown January 3-7 and February 28-March 4. Both are nearly full, so if you've signed up or want to, drop me a line at your earliest convenience so we can go over the parameters and adjustments to make sure you and we feel comfortable getting together. davidrothmusic@gmail.com
