Hello my friends.
|
The only constant in the Universe is change. Have these words ever rung truer? My approach in my interaction with the world going forward continues to be respect-full, care-full, and mind-full. Going back to "life-as-I-know-it" hardly seems tenable, nor do I feel it should be. The ramifications of this changing world reveal the need for a change of life-style rather than clinging to a hope that things will return to "the way they were". That way has contributed, I believe, to great damage to our very environment and to our selves. What an opportunity to change the way we each care for our health and well-being and for the world we can no longer impose our will upon. No quick fixes here, as we learn on a daily basis.
And an age-old question also persists: can a song change the world? IF a consequence of artistic endeavor somehow shifts enough grains of sand to move anything in a positive direction for the greater good, what a fantastic by-product of a personal pursuit of beauty and meaning through music.

We gather in person this August 21st at 7:30 PM in Hyannis, MA for my first concert event here at "home" in over a year and a half, at Unity on Cape Cod

Regarding "protocal" for this live event, I draw on the communication I've had with Rev. Tony Cryer, who made the outreach and invitation. He wrote:
|
"We are committed to following all state guidelines for indoor gatherings and have taken several measures to ensure the safety of our members: We have had the building professionally cleaned and sanitized, including the carpets, and continue to have the building cleaned once a week. We've installed a state-of-the-art ultraviolet air purification system in the heating and cooling ducts in the sanctuary. Hand sanitizing stations were installed around the building. Masks are still required for all unvaccinated people inside. We've used plexi-glass mic shields for many months and they don't present a barrier to connecting with the audience at all. One day at a time, we will find our way to a more compassionate future for all."

Works for me. Come join us.

Still a small handful of spots (4) remain for our rafting adventure in Idaho August 30th - September 4th. Walls closing in on you? We've got an answer in the widest open spaces you can imagine. Some great friends and musicians are coming along too, adding to the campfire music every night. Ever hear "Blowin' in the Wind" in Lithuanian? You will.
